Class Name: Open Gym (Sparring Session)

Overview:  Open gym is for those who want to develop their skills outside of the class environment.  All the gym equipment and resources are available for use as well as expert instruction.  Sparring sessions are open to those athletes identified by coaching staff as being ready.

Level:  Beginner to Advanced

Typical Activities:  Skipping, Shadowboxing, dumbbell work, bag work, mitt work, speed bag, double-end bag, and tennis ball drills.  Sparring is goal oriented, with an emphasis on skills and execution.  


Times:  Tuesday & Friday  4.15pm to 6:00pm (for sparring)
Open Gym: Monday to Friday, 7am to 8pm, and Saturday noon to 4pm

Class Duration: 1 hour (recommended)

Equipment Needed: Gloves and wraps provided (or bring your own), mouth guard, normal gym wear, boxing shoes preferred (or runners with strong ankle support). Sparring requires headgear, mouth guard, and 16 oz sparring gloves.  


Other Requirements: Sparring requires registration with Boxing BC as a competitor with current medical completed.
